Baton Systems names former BNY Mellon and BlackRock alumnus as director of EMEA Sales

New director brings considerable experience to Baton Systems, having previously served at FIS Global, BNY Mellon and BlackRock.

Baton Systems has appointed Alistair Griffiths as its new director of EMEA sales.

Griffiths joins from FIS Global, where he served as senior sales executive of post-trade solutions, responsible for sales in the UK, Channel Islands and the Netherlands.

He brings considerable experience to Baton Systems, having also previously served at BNY Mellon and BlackRock.

While at BNY Mellon, Alistair built up eight years of experience in collateral management, sourcing and growing the firm’s Tri Party Collateral Management activity across the global market.

Most recently, he served as BNY Mellon’s vice president, relationship manager and prior to that, served as production manager at BlackRock.

Based in London, Griffiths will report to Alex Knight, global head of sales, with a focus on new business acquisitions across all Baton solutions in the region.

“Alistair’s deep knowledge and industry experience complements that of the wider team as we seek to ensure that our clients are served by those who have an authentic understanding of the collateral and FX markets and the challenges our client’s face,” said Knight.

Griffiths’ appointment follows that of David Ornstein, who was named Baton’s first chief operating officer, earlier this year. Ornstein joined Baton from Barclays Investment Bank, where he had previously spent 13 years.

“Baton’s technology is revolutionising the way post-trade processing is conducted,” said Griffiths.

“I am excited by the prospect of working for a company that is having such a transformative impact on how the collateral, liquidity and FX post-trade space is now evolving.”
