BNP Paribas’ global head of prime services reverses decision to leave

Global head, formerly of Deutsche Bank and Barclays Investment Bank, has decided to stay with the bank following previous announcements that he would be departing.

BNP Paribas’ global head of prime services Ashley Wilson will no longer leave the firm, The TRADE understands.

Wilson originally joined the bank in June last year and has since held his current role as managing director, global head of prime services.

Last month, sources familiar with the matter confirmed that Wilson was leaving the bank and that Nicolas Marque, head of global equities, would manage prime services until Wilson’s successor was appointed.

He has, however, reversed his decision to leave the bank, as first reported by Reuters last week.

Wilson joined BNP Paribas from Deutsche Bank where he served as a managing director for seven and a half years and prior to that, held the same title at Barclays Investment Bank for just over four years.

His departure from BNP Paribas would’ve followed several senior role changes in the prime brokerage world so far this year both inside and outside of the bank, including John Jenkin, who joined BNP Paribas from JP Morgan; Mark McGoldrick who joined JonesTrading from Cowen; and Mark Aldoroty who joined Jefferies from Pershing.
