The “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality 2023’ event was part of the global initiative by the UN Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, which currently includes 122 world exchanges, in partnership between such international structures as UN Global Compact, UN Women, International Finance Corporations, World Federation of Exchanges and Women in ETFs as global partners, which aims to promote gender equality and empower women across the globe. The theme chosen by the UN Women for this year is “DigitAll: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”. In her speech Dr Portelli highlighted that digitalisation plays a critical role in today’s world and is a crucial tool which helps promote gender equality. She said, “..we need to focus on the importance of innovation towards gender responsive technology“ which goes beyond acknowledging and raising awareness and is the way forward to ensure that any gender’s concerns are integrated in the design of innovative solutions. Present for the event were all female employees and top management of the Exchange.
