Breaking new ground for SDG reporting in Colombia

Multi-stakeholder corporate initiative recognized by UNCTAD
An online platform in Colombia - designed to help businesses assess and report their contributions towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - has received an award from the UN.
The SDG Corporate Tracker Colombia - jointly developed by GRI, the Colombian Government’s National Planning Department, and UN Development Programme – was recognized as one of the top three national initiatives at the International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (ISAR) Honours 2022, by the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
With more than 670 businesses registered on the platform, and 181 reports submitted in 2021, the SDG Tracker plays an important role in data collection and progress analysis, in support of the Global Goals. The information submitted is also used in Colombia’s SDGs Voluntary National Review (VNR) process, contributing to policy decisions at the national, regional, and sectoral levels.
Together with our partners, we are very pleased to be winners at this year’s ISAR Honours. What this achievement clearly demonstrates is the power of cross-sector collaboration. By coming together, we can achieve so much more than by working in silos. Multi-stakeholder partnerships are at the very core of the SDGs, and we are looking forward to forming more alliances in the future, to help scale up the practice of sustainability reporting, driving transparency and accountability for impacts on the economy, environment, and society.

Previously, GRI has been acknowledged for its work with the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in Sri Lanka (2020) and the Philippines Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) (2019).
