• Addition of Mini-HSCEI Options will complete roll-out of eight major stock index products in AHT
• Index futures and options’ average daily AHT volumes are up sharply from their initial levels

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is adding Mini-Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) Options to its after-hours trading (AHT) from this evening.

The addition will complete the rollout of HKEX’s eight major stock index products – Hang Seng Index (HSI) futures and options, Mini-HSI futures and options, HSCEI futures and options and Mini-HSCEI futures and options – in AHT.

HKEX introduced AHT in April 2013.  It began with HSI and HSCEI futures.  From this evening, it will include 27 products.

Index futures’ average daily AHT volume has been 82,146 contacts so far this year, more than 12 times their average in 2013, the first year of AHT.  For index options, last month’s average daily AHT volume of 10,865 contracts was nine times their volume in May of this year, their first month of AHT.
