Jordan to Name Red Sea Water Project Winner in March, Times Says

Jordan will name the company chosen to carry out a water desalination project from the Red Sea to the Dead Sea in March, the Jordan Times reported.

China’s Sinohydro Group Ltd., South Korea’s Samsung C&T Corp. and Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power International are among bidders, the newspaper reported, citing Adnan Zu’bi, assistant secretary general at the Ministry of Water and Irrigation. Egypt’s Orascom Construction Industries and a venture between Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp. and Acciona SA of Spain also qualified to bid for the work, according to the report.
