MF Global Holdings Ltd. is optimistic its stakeholders will reach consensus on how to return money to creditors, even as it faces hurdles in collecting information from operating subsidiaries, a lawyer for the company said in Manhattan bankruptcy court.

The lawyer, Kenneth Ziman, said today that there have been fences created between the debtors while the brokerage units wind down, as MF Global Inc. has under the trustee appointed by the Securities Investor Protection Corp. The holding company is also still looking for a loan to fund operations as it reorganizes, Ziman said.
