Karen Finerman interviews Sallie Krawcheck, a former executive of Bank of America and Citigroup who has recently announced the purchase of 85 Broads, a global networking organization for women, as part of the "Women at the Top" series.
You'd be hard pressed to find anyone on Wall Street who doesn't know who Sallie Krawcheck is.
She has ascended the heights of some of Wall Street's biggest firms. Most recently she was the president of Bank of America's $2 trillion asset-management business. Prior to that she had various jobs at Citigroup, including head of Citi Global Wealth Management and Smith Barney before rising to be Citi's CFO.
During the late 1990s and early 2000, she descended the corporate ladder at Sanford Bernstein, where she became the CEO and was one of the most influential voices for research quality and integrity. So much so that Fortune magazine had her on its cover with the headline, "The Last Honest Analyst."
Krawcheck surprised Wall Street last month when she unveiled her next venture: She bought 85 Broads, a networking site with a subscription model 30,000 strong.
