Press Release

BME and Société Genérale host the first IBEX Trading Day

22 April, 2013

On 25 April in the Madrid Stock Exchange

On 25 April BME and Société Genérale will host the first IBEX TRADING DAY in the Madrid Stock Exchange Palace Building. The event is aimed at promoting and encouraging the use of IBEX 35® indices and the listed products linked to them.

With a very well-defined programme, the conference is an initiative intended to make the different financial products linked to the IBEX 35 index family more widely known. The conference will be divided into three differentiated gatherings.

  • The first consists of a work meeting with the specialised media to explain and make more widely known the different listed products linked to the IBEX index family and their functioning.
  • Simultaneously, five specialist brokers for these products will engage in work sessions with their most active clients, followed by a guided tour of the historical palace building.
  • At the end of the conference, there will be an open session for retail investors from 5:30 pm, aimed at bringing together attendees with a more active investor profile while at the same time broadcasting the event on the Internet by streaming.

The IBEX index family currently comprises 18 indices. The IBEX 35® is the main reference for ETF trading, as in 2012 ETFs linked to IBEX indices accounted for 80% of the trades and trading volume reported by this segment.

There are currently over 4,500 warrants traded on the Spanish stock exchange, of which 361 are linked to the IBEX index family, while 6 out of the 68 ETFs are linked to the IBEX 35®.
