Bursa Malaysia, a member of the ASEAN Exchanges collaboration, will host the third Invest ASEAN 2013 roadshow this Saturday, 2 March, presenting top performing public listed companies from Singapore and Thailand to retail investors in Malaysia.
Invest ASEAN 2013 is a regional investment roadshow – one of the many efforts being undertaken by ASEAN Exchanges to profile the exciting companies listed on the seven exchanges in ASEAN. The roadshow is the latest collaborative initiative by ASEAN Exchanges following its successful rollout of the ASEAN Trading Link connecting the exchanges of Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, providing investors easier accessibility to trade a total of over 2,200 counters listed on these three exchanges.
Dato’ Tajuddin Atan, Chief Executive Officer, Bursa Malaysia, said, “Having launched the ASEAN Trading Link to facilitate cross border trading, the task now is to empower investors with keen knowledge and insights of the ASEAN capital market. For a borderless ASEAN capital market to thrive, investors need to have familiarity and information in order to be able to make informed decisions about ASEAN markets and stocks.”
The Invest ASEAN 2013 roadshow, which debuted in Bangkok on 12 January and thereafter in Singapore on 2 February, is being rolled out to promote the ASEAN Stars of other member Exchanges and ASEAN investment opportunities to ‘home market’ investors.
ASEAN Stars are the 180 ASEAN blue-chip stocks that represent the 30 most exciting companies of each ASEAN Exchanges country as ranked by investability in terms of market capitalisation and liquidity.
“Invest ASEAN 2013 is designed to educate investors with a goal to increase the pool of regional retail investors who are well-versed and familiar with trading ASEAN stocks. The unique aspect of Invest ASEAN is that it presents retail investors with the opportunity to connect directly with the heads of top performing companies of the ASEAN Stars”, said Dato’ Tajuddin.
The upcoming Invest ASEAN 2013 at Bursa Malaysia will feature six of the ASEAN Stars companies, which include three of the leading companies listed on Singapore Exchange and The Stock Exchange of Thailand. The companies are OSIM International Ltd, CNMC Goldmine Holdings Limited and UMS Holding Limited from Singapore and PTT Global Chemical PCL, Bank of Ayudhya PCL and Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL from Thailand.
Attendees to Invest ASEAN 2013 will also gain from an insightful panel discussion on how to capitalise on ASEAN investment opportunities as well as stock picks and market outlooks for Singapore and Thailand.
