The London Metal Exchange (LME) this week visits Mumbai and New Delhi as part of an educational tour of India. The sell-out tour, which consists of day-long seminars for Indian delegates, has received enormous support from Indian industry.
The LME’s Robert Fig, Senior Business Development Executive, will provide an introduction to the LME, and the function and benefits of hedging to protect against price volatility. The LME partner exchange will be the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) and the event will be sponsored by Gold Matrix Resources and INTL FCStone.
“We are very pleased that the Indian metals industry has been so supportive of the tour,” said Catherine Markey, head of marketing and education at the LME. “The seminars aim to familiarise delegates in India with metals price risk management tools.”
A number of companies will also exhibit, sponsor and speak at the various events including Mitsui Bussan Commodities, ADM Financial Services, Marex Spectron, Simportex and Sizer Metals.
