EGX Chairman; Dr. Mohamed Omran has met with Mr. Piotr Puchta, the Polish Ambassador in Cairo on the 25th of September 2012. Omran and Puchta have tackled the means of ensuring mutual cooperation between the two countries. They have also discussed exchanging the technical expertise between the EGX and Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE).
Omran has asserted that the EGX is eager to know more about the technical systems and aspects of the WSE as well as of the Eastern Europe bourses.
"There are a lot in common between Egypt, Poland and Eastern Europe countries in terms of economic conditions" Omran added.
The Polish Ambassador has expressed his country's eagerness to deepen cooperation between the Egypt and Poland in areas of economy, and securities markets in particular.
Furthermore, EGX chairman has also met JP Morgan in an attempt to reach mutual cooperation to upgrade the market and attract new investors to the Egyptian market, which is recently witnessing growth in terms of stock prices and of daily liquidity levels.
Omran has discussed with JP Morgan delegation methods of attracting foreign corporation to cross list on EGX or to get listed as Egyptian Depository Receipts (EDRs).
