Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has successfully concluded its Summer Training Program 2012. In total, 18 UAE students participated in the program throughout the month of July, working an average of 6 hours per day from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm. The program covered various aspects of practical training on key areas of the financial markets and represented a major challenge for the participants, especially with the newly introduced courses: ‘The FutureBroker’, ‘The Future Technician’ and ‘The Future Researcher’.
Prizes and certificates of participation were distributed during the closing ceremony in the presence of Jamal Al Khadhar, Senior Vice President, Head of Human Resources and Strategic Planning Division and Ahmed Al Jaziri, Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Services, along with other representatives of DFM’s senior management. The ceremony also acknowledged the support of brokerage firms namely: Al Ramz Securities, Emirates NBD Securities, Daman Securities and EFG-Hermes Brokerage, in addition to the DFM Information Technology Department and Market Operations Department in recognition of their support for the program via the formation of specialist teams assigned to guide the trainees.
The trainees were placed within various departments and in some brokerage firms. Additionally, the students attended specialized courses from the 15th to 19th of July. Each course included 6 students on average. These courses aimed to explore the talents and trigger the underlying capabilities of the students in relation to key areas of capital markets, including Brokerage, Information Technology and Market Research. Each student attended a specialized course according to their personal interests and academic field. ‘The Future Technician’course and ‘The Future Broker’ course were implemented under the supervision of the DFM Information Technology Department and Market Operations Division respectively. Moreover, the students were briefed to prepare a research on two topics including the establishment of a training center in DFM and how to develop the Clearing Services on the internet. Additionally, all trainees have taken part in the DFM Stock Game.
All trainees have shown enormous enthusiasm in meeting the training challenges and many of them demonstrated promising talents. The trainees have expressed their appreciation of the high level of valuable skills and experience gained throughout the course of this program, which deepened their knowledge of financial markets and of DFM’s various divisions and departments. They also praised the introduction of the new, challenging and informative specialized courses.
