The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ), parent of the world's first electronic stock market and a leading index provider, today announced the results of the quarterly re-ranking of the NASDAQ Q-50 IndexSM(Nasdaq:NXTQ), which will become effective prior to market open on Monday, December 24, 2012.
The following fourteen securities will be added to the Index: ARM Holdings, Plc (Nasdaq:ARMH), Electronic Arts Inc. (Nasdaq:EA), Flextronics International Ltd. (Nasdaq:FLEX), Lam Research Corporation (Nasdaq:LRCX), Medivation, Inc. (Nasdaq:MDVN), MercadoLibre, Inc. (Nasdaq:MELI), Marvell Technology Group Ltd. (Nasdaq:MRVL), Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq:NDSN), Netflix, Inc. (Nasdaq:NFLX), Patterson Companies, Inc. (Nasdaq:PDCO), Research In Motion Limited (Nasdaq:RIMM), Ryanair Holdings Plc (Nasdaq:RYAAY), VeriSign, Inc. (Nasdaq:VRSN) and Yandex N.V. (Nasdaq:YNDX).
The Index is designed to track the performance of the 50 securities that are next in line to replace the securities currently included in the NASDAQ-100 Index®. As a result of the re-ranking, the following thirteen securities will be removed from the Index: Analog Devices, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADI), Catamaran Corporation (Nasdaq:CTRX), Discovery Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:DISCA), Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq:EQIX), Fortinet, Inc. (Nasdaq:FTNT), Groupon, Inc. (Nasdaq:GRPN), Liberty Global, Inc. (Nasdaq:LBTYA), Liberty Media Corporation (Nasdaq:LMCA), Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX), Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq:REGN), SBA Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:SBAC), Verisk Analytics, Inc. (Nasdaq:VRSK) and Western Digital Corporation (Nasdaq:WDC).
