Ethanol Output in U.S. Falls 5.1% to Record Low, EIA Says

Ethanol production in the U.S. fell 5.1 percent last week to a record low of 784,000 barrels a day, U.S. Energy Information Administration data showed.

The drop was the largest since the Energy Department’s analytical arm began tracking weekly data in June 2010. Stockpiles in the period ended Jan. 11 jumped 2.6 percent to 20.4 million barrels, the highest level in four weeks.
