NZX is pleased to announce that Woodward Partners Securities Limited has been accredited as an NZX Advising Firm.
“We welcome Woodward Partners Securities to the institutional brokerage community. They bring extensive industry expertise and analytical skills to our securities market” said NZX CEO Tim Bennett.
Woodward Partners Limited was founded in 2009 as a boutique investment bank to provide advisory and transactional advice to corporate and government clients and has grown steadily since then. The institutional stockbroking arm of Woodward Partners was opened in 2012 in response to the taxation reforms in recent years, the growth of savings in New Zealand particularly around KiwiSaver and the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, and the prospect of future listings in the electricity and dairy sectors.
Woodward Partners Securities has appointed Neville Todd as the firm’s Managing Principal and Head of Trading. Mr Todd was the New Zealand Managing Director of the institutional broking firm Citigroup Global Markets and a co-founder of Milford Asset Management.
The firm has also recruited veteran equity analyst, David Stanley, the former head of research at Macquarie in New Zealand. Mr. Stanley was an analyst in New Zealand before undertaking academic research in Canada, and he is well-known to the investment community.
One of the co-founders of Woodward Partners Limited, Nick Lewis, CFA, has joined Woodward Partners Securities Limited full-time. Mr.Lewis was trained as a mechanical engineer and has more than thirty years of experience working in and covering the energy and utility sectors, including seven years at JP Morgan in New York. Mr Lewis is an accredited Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Mr Bennett adds, “Woodward Partners Securities is an important new service provider for institutional investors as we work to deepen New Zealand’s capital markets”.
