Weltec BioPower GmbH, a German clean-power project developer, will start building a plant to generate renewable fuel from maize and manure in Poland.

The 2.4-megawatt biogas facility will be built in Darzyno in the province of Pomerania, according to a statement on the Weltec website. The feedstock, including potato waste, will be fermented to produce biogas for electricity. Weltec will start work in September with plant operation next summer.
