Singapore Exchange (SGX) today said Maybank Kim Eng Securities Pte Ltd has joined its derivatives market as a Clearing and Trading Member.
Mr Chew Sutat, Head of Sales and Clients at SGX said, “We are delighted that Maybank Kim Eng, which is a Member in our securities market, is extending its role by becoming a Clearing and Trading member of our derivatives market.”
SGX’s derivatives market has achieved record open interest in recent months; open interest for futures and options contracts reached a new high on 13 December 2012 of 2.95 million contracts.

The admission of Maybank Kim Eng brings the number of Clearing Members for the derivatives market to 26 and the number of Trading Members to 42. In addition, there are 11 Clearing Members for the clearing of OTC-traded financial derivatives on SGX AsiaClear. The securities market also has 27 Trading Members and 26 Clearing Members.
