The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) continues to increase opportunities for Thai listed companies to develop their potential by providing guidelines and advice on Investor Relations (IR) in order to attract investors to listed firms.
SET places importance on continuously encouraging and promoting IR operations of listed companies by developing IR through three main activities: Firstly, providing IR advice to give insights and information on best practices to companies through SET’s IR Advising Program, plus holding seminars and other training; secondly, giving IR Handbook “First Step to Investor Relations” to companies to help them manage and enhance their IR systematically; and lastly, recognizing and honoring firms through giving Best IR Awards, one of the SET Awards held in November this year, said SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira.
“We see opportunities in companies, as currently there are a great number of firms with good performance and growth potential. They can draw more interest from investors if they develop their IR operations systematically and use best practices. For SET’s IR Advising Program, we have selected IR advisory companies to provide analysis and advice for listed companies which SET would also support half of the costs. The program, being held for the second year, drew interest from 16 SET-listed companies and three mai-listed firms in 2011. Most companies were satisfied with the program and have developed their IR efforts effectively. For this year, we aims the program could attract about 30 companies.” Charamporn added.
Firms that participate in SET’s IR Advising Program will be given a free diagnosis of the company’s current IR status and areas needing improvement, advice on IR operations and information management, and an IR performance evaluation and review.
