Alstom to Furnish 68 Wind Turbines to Brazil’s Casa dos Ventos

Alstom SA, the world’s third-largest power-equipment maker, has agreed to supply 68 wind turbines to Brazilian developer Casa dos Ventos for projects in the northeastern city of Joao Camara.

The power equipment, with more than 180 megawatts of generation capacity, will be produced at its factory in Bahia state, Levallois-Perret, France-based Alstom said today on its website. The contract, worth 230 million euros ($302.3 million), may be signed by the end of the month.
