Thailand Focus 2012 has successfully gathered capital markets in Indochina to present insights for foreign investors for the first time, with CEOs of stock exchanges in Cambodia, Hanoi, Hochiminh, Laos and Thailand participating and meeting nine foreign funds interested in discussions with the exchanges and Indochina companies in one-on-one meetings.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) President Charamporn Jotikasthira said: “This participation from the other exchanges in Indochina and their listed companies is a crucial step for the Thai capital market in connecting capital markets in this region, opening opportunities for investors worldwide to realize the development and potential of the area. This is the first time that capital markets in Indochina have gathered together to present insights for foreign investors. SET is very pleased to support this cooperation and will invite them back to succeeding Thailand Focus due to strong interest from institutional investors.”
Hong Sok Hour, CEO of Cambodia Securities Exchange, the latest stock exchange in the region (launched in April 2012), said: “Joining Thailand Focus and meeting investors one-on-one are great opportunities to introduce Cambodia’s bourse to foreign investors, benefiting to Cambodia’s stock exchange development in the future. Thus, we see the event will be very helpful for Indochinese capital market evolution.”
Tran Van Dzung, CEO of Hanoi Stock Exchange, said: “We feel thankful to SET for asking us to join Thailand Focus this year. This event is an important way to build strong links of friendship between Indochinese bourses and show investors how the exchanges can work together effectively.”
