The Board of ASX Limited (ASX) today announces the appointment of Ms Heather Ridout as a non-executive
director of the company. Her appointment is part of ASX’s continuing Board renewal process, as outlined by the
Chairman in the 2012 Annual Report.
Ms Ridout will stand for election as a director at ASX’s 2012 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 5 October 2012.
ASX Chairman, Mr Rick Holliday-Smith, welcomed Ms Ridout to the ASX, saying: “Heather Ridout brings an
extensive understanding of Australian industry to the ASX Board. This is an important attribute given our
determination that ASX should remain a leading market on which to list and raise capital. Her expertise in public
policy debates will be beneficial for the company as it navigates through a period of major change in financial
market structure and regulation.”
Ms Ridout is a director of AustralianSuper and Sims Metal Management, and a member of the Board of the
Reserve Bank of Australia.
Current ASX director, Ms Jillian Broadbent, has notified the Chairman that she proposes to retire from the ASX
Board after the AGM, to focus on her new role as Chair of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation.
