STOXX Spain 30 Index vs. STOXX Europe 600 Index
On July 1st, 2012, the Spain won the 14th UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as EURO 2012. The game, in which Spain defeated Italy by a score of 4-0, was held in Kiev, Ukraine. Spain is the first team to ever win two consecutive European Championships, and the first European international team to win three straight major tournament titles (Euro 2008, 2010 FIFA World Cup, EURO 2012).
The STOXX Spain 30 Index, which is derived from the STOXX Europe TMI, covers the largest 30 companies in Spain. Since the beginning of this year, the index has been down -16.94%; while the STOXX Europe 600 Index was up 2.71% over the same timeframe.
