Downtown Newark’s 2 Gateway Center is getting a major new tenant, and 1,000 jobs. Financial communications firm Broadridge Financial Solutions has inked a lease on 160,000 sq. ft. in this Class A building at the corner of Market Street and the McCarter Highway.

Broadridge, a company whose offerings include communications, technology, data, and analytics solutions, was drawn to 2 Gateway because of its location, convenient to major transportation hubs, and for its technological connectivity. The company will bring 1,000 of its 10,000 current jobs, currently spread across 16 countries, in addition to construction jobs.

“This lease represents a major milestone not just for our building, but for Newark at large, with the addition of approximately 1,000 high-quality jobs to the market,” said C&K Properties CEO and founder Ben Korman, whose firm owns and manages 2 Gateway Center.

Broadridge will join tenants like NJTV, whose live studio is located here, and the Gateway Project art gallery, as well as the Cotidaiano Café. The building has seen an influx in tenants since becoming the first participant in the Newark Fiber program, which offers high-speed fiber-optic Internet access at low prices.

“It’s clear that Broadridge, like so many other industry-leading multinational companies, have recognized the value in establishing a significant presence in a world-class space only steps away from the region’s largest transportation hub,” said Korman. “We’re excited to welcome one of the most highly respected financial services firms in the world to the blossoming business community at 2 Gateway.”
