The former head of UBS's financial technology innovation lab — and a member of FN's list of the most influential people in European fintech — has launched his own start-up.

Alex Batlin spent more than a decade at UBS, including heading up its lab in Canary Wharf's Level39, where a team worked with early stage companies around technologies including blockchain. Batlin left UBS in 2016 and joined BNY Mellon, where he was global blockchain lead.
