Brazil’s energy regulator Aneel set a 262-real ($106.6) ceiling price for solar power, the highest for next month’s energy auction, in a bid to spur wider use.

The Oct. 31 sale will be the first national energy auction with a specific category for photovoltaic projects, Aneel said in a public board meeting today. It will also include wind, biogas and solid-waste energy projects.
