The total value of trading in equities on the Main Market was PLN 18.7 billion in July 2014, a decrease of 0.7% year on year. The value of the Electronic Order Book was PLN 122.1 billion year to date at the end of July 2014, a modest decrease of 4.4% year on year. The average number of transactions per session was 55.7 thousand in January-July 2014, an increase of 16.2% year on year.
The incremental value of trading in equities on NewConnect increased by 23.3% year on year and stood at PLN 724.6 million in January-July 2014. The value of the Electronic Order Book on NewConnect was PLN 80.5 million in July 2014, an increase of 47.8% year on year. The average number of transactions per session was 2.6 thousand in July 2014, an increase of 38.3% year on year.
20 July 2014 was the last trading day of WIG20 futures contracts with a multiplier of PLN 10. Only WIG20 futures contracts with a multiplier of PLN 20 are in trading as of 23 July 2014. For data comparability, the historical volume of trading in WIG20 futures with a multiplier of PLN 10 (before 23 July 2014) was divided by 2 in the index contract line of the table attached to the press release. After the correction, the incremental volume of trading in index contracts year to date decreased by 3.9% year on year in January-July 2014. The number of open interest increased by 49.9% year on year in July 2014.
The value of bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 65.9 billion in July 2014, an increase of 16.2% year on year. The value of the Electronic Order Book was PLN 168.7 million, a decrease of 22.5% year on year.
The total value of trading on TBSP increased by 20.8% year on year to PLN 64.1 billion in July 2014. A year-on-year increase in the value of trading was reported both for cash and conditional transactions (by 20.6% and 20.9% respectively).
The value of trading in structured products increased by 112.2% year on year and stood at PLN 322.8 million in January-July 2014.
The incremental volume of trading in electricity was 103.3 TWh in January-July 2014, an increase of 14.3% year on year. The volume of trading in property rights to certificates of origin of electricity increased by 2.9% year on year and stood at 1.9 TWh in July 2014. The total volume of trading in gas increased to 5.3 TWh in July 2014 from 0.07 TWh in July 2013 while the incremental volume of trading was 10.5 TWh in 2014 compared to 0.5 TWh in January-July 2013.
The capitalisation of 413 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 584.3 billion (EUR 140.3 billion) at the end of July 2014.
The total capitalisation of 462 domestic and foreign companies listed on the WSE Main Market was PLN 870.7 billion (EUR 209.1 billion) at the end of July 2014.
The companies Tele-Polska Holding, Torpol, Altus TFI and Alumetal were newly listed on the WSE Main Market in July 2014. The total value of the IPOs was more than PLN 656 million in July 2014.
Four companies was newly listed on NewConnect in July 2014: Boruta-Zachem, Neptis, Apanet and Zakłady Mięsne Mysław. The total value of the IPOs was PLN 19.7 million.
Bonds of five companies were newly listed on Catalyst in July 2014: Leasing-Experts, LZMO, Zakłady Magnezytowe Ropczyce, Integer.pl and Hussar Gruppa. The total value of the bonds newly listed on Catalyst in July 2014 was PLN 38.9 million and EUR 4 million.
WSE held 23 trading sessions in July 2014, the same as in July 2013.
