Mr. Rashid bin Ali Al Mansoori, CEO of Qatar Stock Exchange, arrived last night in the Korean capital Seoul to participate in the 2014 annual meetings of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), which begins there today in the presence of representatives of 60 WFE member exchanges and market operators responsible for the functioning of key components in the financial world.
The annual meetings will begin with a meeting for the Working Committee, which will be held this morning. A meeting of the WFE Board of Directors will be followed in the afternoon. The opening ceremony of the Annual Convention, which will be held tomorrow morning, will include keynotes by the Geun-hye Park, President of the Republic of Korea; and Je-Yoon Shin, Chairman of the Korean Financial Services Commission; and Kyungsoo Choi, Chairman & CEO, Korea Exchange.
During his stay in the Korean capital, Mr. Rashid bin Ali Al Mansoori, CEO of Qatar Stock Exchange, will hold a series of meetings with senior officials in a number of Arab and international stock exchanges and will also participate in the discussion panels, which will be held over two days and address a number of issues of concern to exchanges and investors.
During the General Assembly meetings, which will be held on Tuesday, an election session will be held to elect a new Chairman, Vice chairman, Chairman of the Working Committee, and a members of the Board of Directors to fill a number of vacancies in the Council.
It is noteworthy that the World Federation of Exchanges was established in 1961. It has now 60 Stock Exchange members and has recently moved its headquarters from France to Britain.
