The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has named The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) a 2015 “Best Place to Work” for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees, marking the third consecutive year that DTCC has been honored with the designation.
HRC, the leading LGBT civil rights organization in the United States, made the announcement today after DTCC received a 100% rating on HRC’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The CEI is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality.
HRC rated 972 businesses, evaluating them on LGBT-related issues, including non-discrimination workplace practices, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits and public engagement with the LGBT community.
"In order to achieve a perfect score, a company has to show a deep and serious commitment to treating their LGBT employees fairly and equally on the job,” said HRC President Chad Griffin. “We also look at whether a company is speaking out in the public square to advocate for LGBT equality here in this country and around the world. DTCC not only meets these standards, it goes above and beyond the call of duty, making commitment to equality a fundamental aspect of its corporate values."
In achieving the 100% rating, DTCC becomes one of 366 major U.S. businesses named to the “Best Places to Work” 2015 list.
“We’re honored to once again be recognized as a “Best Place to Work” and thank the HRC for its ongoing drive to end discrimination against LGBT citizens,” said Michael Bodson, DTCC President and Chief Executive Officer. “We view diversity and inclusion as a key business differentiator that helps to foster an environment of collaboration and innovation and enhances our ability to more effectively serve our clients.”
“We know that the HRC‘s “Best Places” designation enables us attract the best and the brightest in the marketplace and recruit new employees from the largest talent pool possible,” said Tony Portannese, DTCC Managing Director, Human Resources. “We’re proud that DTCC has been recognized for maintaining an open, diverse and inclusive corporate environment for all our employees, including our LGBT community.”
