Giles Hargreave steps down from CEO role

Giles Hargreave has relinquished his role as CEO of Hargreave Hale in order to focus on running his funds, with the group promoting two of its directors to jointly head the business.

Lee Finlayson and Stuart Brookes - both board members - have been appointed as joint managing directors and will now run the business on a day-to-day basis. Hargreave (pictured) will remain as chairman of the business which bears his name, and continue to run his portfolios which include the small-cap focused Marlborough Special Situations fund, now £862m in size. Special Situations is among the top performers in the IMA UK Smaller Companies over the long-term, returning 179.6% over the last five years versus the sector average gain of 149.1%.
