Ousted Bear unloading his den

Disgraced Richard Harriton, the ex-president of Bear Stearns’ trade-clearing unit — who paid $1 million to settle a fraud case filed by the SEC — is finally selling his penthouse apartment, which had been on the market for 1,100 days.

Harriton’s unit was in contract 20 days after he switched brokers and listed it with Tal and Oren Alexander and Sarah Williams, all of Douglas Elliman’s Alexander Team. The full-floor unit, at the Belaire, includes 700 square feet of wraparound terraces and great city views.

The unit boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, a woodburning fireplace, an eat-in chef’s kitchen and a master suite with two dressing areas, master baths, and custom built-in closets. The building has a gym, pool, children’s playroom and laundry room.

Here comes the Bloom

One year after David and Whitney Bloom bought a 69th-floor unit at the Time Warner Center for $12.25 million, they sold it — for $15 million. Not a bad profit to turn in a year.

David Bloom is a private equity investor/advisor who co-founded the Chelsea Property Group, which includes high-end discount malls like Woodbury Commons.

The unit had been on the market for a mere 34 days, according to Streeteasy.com, with Douglas Elliman’s Tal and Oren Alexander and Jamie Safier, for $16 million. The three-bedroom, 3½-bathroom unit is 2,317 square feet.

It comes with stunning views of Central Park — and the view extends to LaGuardia airport on a good day, Whitney once told the New York Times.
