- Adam Maciejewski, President of Warsaw Stock Exchange, has received the award from the Business Magazine Manager Publishing House
- The award is granted for outstanding management skills
The President of WSE has received the award at a gala ceremony at the Polish Business Roundtable Club in Warsaw. The GRAND PRIX MANAGER AWARD is given to outstanding managers who set the tone for the Polish economy. The award was established several years ago by the Business Magazine Manager Publishing House, the publisher of the Manager monthly addressed to managers.
“It is a great honour to receive this year’s GRAND PRIX MANAGER AWARD; it proves that the efforts of my colleagues and mine have made great sense. The award is especially valuable because it is granted by excellent managers, people who understand business management and who change the Polish economy every day. I thank them all and I promise to make best efforts to fulfil the manager’s obligations associated with this award,” said Adam Maciejewski, President of the Management Board of WSE.
“Adam Maciejewski is a manager who has a great quality: he can do much more than anyone could expect. Within less than 18 months, he has implemented many important, long-awaited changes on WSE. He has formed a management board of independent professionals and together with them implemented a new trading system, reformed NewConnect, solved the penny stock problem and the controversial issue of trading session length, introduced the WIG30 index, considerably advanced the project of taking over the Vienna Stock Exchange, acquired a large block of shares in the new pan-European trading facility Aquis Exchange, launched the national rating agency project, attracted new London investors to the exchange, and initiated the implementation of WSE’s new strategy. The growth rate of trading on WSE in 2013 was nearly four times higher than on other European trading floors while WSE’s financial results were excellent. Under his management, WSE has received prestigious awards from Euromoney (as the best financial exchange in CEE), EMEA Finance (achievement award) and Gazeta Giełdy Parkiet (for innovation of the year 2013 on the financial market),” said Piotr Cegłowski, Editor in Chief of Manager, at the award ceremony.
The 2013 GRAND PRIX MANAGER AWARD went to Paweł Olechnowicz, President of Grupa LOTOS. This year’s winners include CEOs and managers of the biggest companies and organisations on the market.
The special MANAGER QUALITY award has gone to managers’ favourite brands: Montblanc and Porsche.
GRAND PRIX MANAGER AWARD is granted by a jury headed by Andrzej Arendarski, President of the National Chamber of Commerce. The jury also includes Piotr Cegłowski, Editor in Chief of Manager, as well as 2013 Gala winners.
This year’s event has attracted many guests included representatives of the government, top managers of corporations and cultural and art institutions. The gala offered a unique opportunity to meet many top managers and establish new contacts.
