The Luxembourg Stock Exchange (“LuxSE”) welcomes on 21 July 2014 the listing of Brederode S.A., a leading Luxembourg-based investment company.
The firm, with a market capitalisation of EUR 847 million, makes strategic investments in both public and private companies, with focus on Western Europe and the United States. Recent transactions in listed companies include investments in Americans Mastercard and Intel. As of the end of December 2013, Brederode’s portfolio had a total value of EUR 1.1 billion.
Brederode decided to merge in May 2014 with Luxembourg-based Acturus S.A. The merger was part of a group reorganization aiming at rationalising and optimising the management of Brederode’s holding company Holdicam by centralising in Luxembourg the administration and management of its financial assets. The company’s goal is to increase the assets of its shareholders by generating not only dividends but also, and above all, capital gains from the disposal of holdings on a recurrent basis.
“We want to congratulate Brederode for its successful listing” said Hubert Grignon Dumoulin, Member of the Management Board of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. “This listing strengthens the position of Luxembourg as a leading domicile venue for investment companies and funds and shows the ability of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange to efficiently support this industry.”
A total of 29,305,586 shares of Brederode (ISIN LU1068091351) will be admitted to trading on the regulated market of LuxSE under the symbol BREL on Monday.
