  • The new eSpeed ITCH specifications will be posted on March 12th on the NASDAQ OMX eSpeed Secure Page.
  • A beta testing period will be offered prior to launch.

What is changing?

NASDAQ OMX will be introducing a new eSpeed-ITCH data feed in Mid- 2014. The eSpeed-ITCH feed will bring full depth, lower latency and better performance to the NASDAQ OMX eSpeed U.S. Treasury Market.

NASDAQ OMX will continue to offer the eSpeed Multicast and eSpeed API data feeds for the foreseeable future.

What are the benefits of an eSpeed ITCH feed?

Trading with eSpeed ITCH provides real advantages over competitive offerings, as well as the current book-based, aggregated eSpeed Multicast feed and conflated API data feed by offering:

  • Transparency of order flow- The high level of detail in eSpeed ITCH messages help traders drastically improve their ability to perform microstructure analysis, better understand how orders are distributed throughout the market and identify new trading opportunities.
  • Retransmission and recovery mechanism- Unlike the current eSpeed Multicast feed, eSpeed ITCH provides the ability to handle packet losses and reserve the current state of the market through rewind and GLIMPSE process.
  • Technology consolidation- eSpeed ITCH allows customers to reduce development and maintenance efforts for market data components if the firm has already adapted ITCH protocols for other NASDAQ OMX markets. Fast and very low latency. eSpeed ITCH is the premier low-latency offering from NASDAQ OMX.

What products will be covered by eSpeed ITCH?

eSpeed ITCH will cover U.S. Treasury Benchmarks, U.S. Treasury Floating Rate Notes (FRNs), Treasury Bills, Treasury Bill Rolls, Coupon Rolls, and FRN Rolls. As NASDAQ OMX launches other products on the eSpeed platform, such as Treasury Inflated Protected Securities (TIPS), they will also be added to the eSpeed ITCH feed.

Will there be a beta testing period?

NASDAQ OMX will offer a beta testing period prior to launch and will send further communication around testing and production dates.

How will my firm connect to eSpeed ITCH?

NASDAQ OMX will offer eSpeed ITCH in U.S. Data Centers, network points of presence (POPs), and also through various redistribution partners. Please contact your eSpeed Data Account Representative for more information about connectivity options.
