NASDAQ OMX Nordic will implement T+2 settlement on 6 October 2014

NASDAQ OMX exchanges in Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen will introduce a shorter settlement cycle starting on October 6th 2014. The present settlement cycle is three days (T+3). From October 6th 2014 the settlement cycle will be two days (T+2). The shortened settlement cycle covers all securities admitted to trading at the exchanges and the respective First North markets.

The introduction of a shortened settlement cycle is in line with new regulation on CSDs introduced by the European Commission, which stipulates that from January 1st 2015, securities transactions in European Union regulated markets and MTFs will have to settle no later than the second business day after trading takes place.

NASDAQ OMX exchanges in Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen are adapting the T+2 settlement cycle on a common date in agreement with the Nordic Securities Association and the Nordic market infrastructure providers.
