KVH Co. Ltd., Asia’s leading information delivery platform headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, today announced it has been selected by 3VR, a US based market leader in video business intelligence, as one of its platform providers for its upcoming service launch in Japan. 3VR plans to begin offering services in Japan in the third quarter of 2014 with its full suite of video business intelligence products that include a customer insights dashboard for Retail and a robust suite of video-based analytics and reporting capabilities.
With recent advancements in technology, the use of video as a way of improving store operations and understanding shopping behavior as well as protecting employees, customers and brands is becoming popular in the U.S. and Europe. While networked in-store security cameras (IP cameras) in Japan are on the rise, many companies have not yet begun using such video data for store operations and marketing purposes or security intelligence.
For customer insights, 3VR provides intelligent marketing and in-store operations solutions enabling Retail organizations to understand traffic patterns and demographics, increase conversions, measure store trends and improve customer service.
For security, 3VR provides intelligent loss prevention solutions enabling Banking, Retail, Government, Infrastructure and Hospitality organizations to reduce fraud, shrinkage and theft as well as speed investigations.
In order to enter the Japanese market, 3VR sought a provider to furnish the necessary infrastructure to handle its customers’ video and business intelligence requirements. The information delivery platform of KVH, offering a rich set of services including legacy managed IT services, managed security services and both private and public cloud-based services, satisfied 3VR’s requirements for a secure, flexible and cost-efficient managed solution. KVH’s facilities have been purposely designed to meet the strict needs and regulations of the financial services industry and are suited to offer the highest level of security to 3VR’s customers. By working with KVH, 3VR can leverage the high security and performance of KVH’s platform that is backed by SLAs (Service Level Agreement) to give 3VR clients added value.
“KVH is excited to support 3VR’s entry into the Japanese market as we believe this will open up a new market for video intelligence in Japan,” noted Takao Hirai, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Market Division of KVH.
“We are excited to launch in Japan, the second largest IT market in the world,” says Al Shipp, CEO of 3VR. “As cloud solution providers embrace video technologies like 3VR, we are thrilled to be working with KVH, a clear leader in this area.”
