Morningstar, Inc. : Morningstar Announces Speakers and Agenda for 2013 European ETF Invest Conference 7-8 November in Milan

LONDON, 21 October, 2013-Morningstar Inc., today announced the speaker and programme details for its second European ETF Invest Conference, to be held in Milan on 7 and 8 November, 2013. The conference will feature thought leaders from across the European exchange-traded product (ETP) industry, investment experts, and Morningstar analysts, to provide detailed discussion and debate for professional investors.

"Across Europe, assets under management in ETPs have more than tripled in the past five years", Ben Johnson, Morningstar's director of global passive funds research, said. "By the end of the third quarter this year, assets in ETPs in the European market totalled EUR 280 billion, up some 205 per cent from the same period in 2008. With such strong growth, there's a need for investment ideas and education. The Milan event will deliver great insight into this important and evolving investment vehicle from some of the industry's leading investors and academic experts currently in this field."

Keynote speakers at the Morningstar European ETF Conference will include Julian Callow, Managing Director and Chief European Economist, Barclays, and Francesc Balcells, Executive Vice President and Portfolio Manager, PIMCO Europe. The conference will also include presentations and panels led by ETF experts from institutions including Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management, Amundi ETF, UBS AG, MSCI, Northern Trust Asset Management, Vanguard Asset Management Ltd, Unicredit Bank AG, iShares, University of Bocconi, PIMCO Europe, KCG Group Ltd, State Street Global Investors, Twenty20 Investments, Avana Invest GmbH, Get Capital AG, Assogestioni, ECPI Group, Pax World Management Corp, FSTE ESG, and Warburg Pincus.

Round table discussions will consider "Smart" Beta and its true relevance and value to investors; the "Reach for Yield" in fixed income products; Europe's fragmented ETP trading landscape and how to make sense of it; responsible investment in passive investment strategies; the drivers of the next 10 years in the ETP industry; and a European macro outlook.
