ISTANBUL
The signing ceremony of strategic cooperation agreement between Borsa Istanbul (BIST) and Nasdaq OMX Group was postponed to a yet to be announced date, Borsa Istanbul officials said Monday.
The signature ceremony was delayed due to the decisions to be taken at the extraordinary general assembly of BIST on December 31, 2013, BIST officials told Anadolu Agency emphasizing that it was only the signing that was delayed and the deal was still on.
The general assembly of BIST will deliberate the five years authorization of the administrative board for its shares, which represents 10 percent of company capital.
The administrative board of BIST has stated, the authorization is required for the establishment and sustainability of strategic cooperation between BIST and other financial groups.
