GE Buys Irish Wind Farms as It Expands in Renewable Energy

General Electric Co. bought two wind farms in Ireland that will power more than 33,300 homes.

GE Energy Financial Services bought the farms, totaling 51 megawatts, from Element Power, Portland, Oregon-based Element said today in a statement on its website. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. The projects are expected to start working in the first half of next year.
