Essap to Build $516 Million of Water Plants in Paraguay

Paraguay’s state water utility plans to build four sewage plants for the capital Asuncion and the surrounding metropolitan area that will cost $516 million.

Essap, as the utility is known, is in talks with Brazilian construction company Odebrecht SA to develop the landlocked country’s water and water-treatment infrastructure, the government said in a Sept. 13 statement. Essap is officially known as Empresa de Servicios Sanitarios del Paraguay SA.
