The S&P GSCI posted a gain of 1.9% in December and declined 1.2% YTD.
The S&P GSCI closed the year on a negative note, marking its third flat or negative consecutive year. Some commodities like cocoa, cotton, soybeans and natural gas rallied, and closed 2013 on a positive note against thebackdrop of a broader commodities sell-off.
