‘Today we present the key elements of a strategy which aims to build the strongest securities exchange in the history of Central and Eastern Europe. With its resources and capacity, such exchange will be positioned to effectively support the development of local economies and compete on the international market. I am positive that by 2020 we will create a market offering companies from Gdansk via Dubrovnik to Odessa strong foundations for growth that can be achieved through a modern and effective regional capital market,’ said Adam Maciejewski, President of the Management Board of WSE.
The new strategy assumes long term and stable value creation for its shareholders by 2020 combined with the implementation of WSE mission: to support the Polish economy and to build an international capital centre in Warsaw – Warsaw Capital City. The key assumptions of strategy WSE.2020 include: maximization of current sources of growth for the Group, further and enhanced diversification of sources of revenue, and internationalisation of business. WSE plans to develop the existing business lines as well as to launch new ones, and to co-operate with selected partners which offer innovative products and have an established market position, unique resources and growth outlook. Main strategic goal of WSE is to achieve, either independently, via strategic alliance or partnership-like cooperation with significant entities from the capital markets, a dominant role in the Central and Eastern Europe region and important position on the European capital markets scene.
