Paul Carlier, a former foreign-exchange trader at Lloyds Banking Group Plc, is suing the U.K.-based lender, claiming he was dismissed for blowing the whistle on alleged malpractice.

Carlier filed the claim earlier this year and the case is scheduled to be heard at a London employment tribunal in September, according to a court clerk. Carlier argues that he was unfairly dismissed for making a so-called public interest disclosure, or whistle-blowing, the clerk said, referring to court documents.
