Although big spending billionaire Ken Griffin has settled his ugly divorce battle with his wife of 11 years, Anne Dias-Griffin, his massive real estate spending spree is far from over.
Griffin has just plunked down $60 million on an eight-bedroom penthouse duplex at Faena House in Florida, real estate sources tell The Post.
Contrary to reports, Griffin did not pay $10 million over the asking price.
Instead, he paid $50 million for the penthouse and an additional $10 million for the full floor below.
“The guy is a trophy home collector. He has homes all over the world,” a real estate insider said.
Griffin was recently outed by Page Six as the buyer of a $200 million apartment at 220 Central Park South — money he is spending before the sales office for the new luxury development even opens.
Earlier this year he also bought a $130 million property in Palm Beach. In addition, he owns luxury homes in Aspen, Hawaii and Chicago.
Griffin, who was born in South Florida, is the founder and CEO of a Chicago-based hedge fund, Citadel. His net worth is estimated to be $6.9 billion and he reportedly earns $100 million a month.
