Cargill Beef Recalled in Canada on E. Coli Concerns

Cargill Inc. is recalling ground-beef products sold in western Canada because of possible contamination with E. coli O157 bacteria. There have been no reported illnesses and a food-safety investigation is under way.

“Cargill is cooperating with government entities investigating this situation,” Mike Martin, a spokesman for the Minneapolis-based company, said in an e-mail today.
