Basel Committee Recommends Reporting Improvements

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) has highlighted a possible need to improve regulatory data collection to aid in the understanding of risk-weighted assets (RWAs), in a report to the G20 (Group of 20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors) on the implementation of the Basel III regulatory reforms of bank capital adequacy, stress testing and market liquidity risk.

In its fourth report to the G20, the BCBS says it has found "considerable variation" in the average risk
