Equities
The equity trading volume on the Spanish Stock Exchange in July reached €73.36 billion, the highest turnover monthly figure since October 2011, 25.4% up on the previous month and 3.1% up on the same month in 2012.The trading volume in the first seven months totaled €399.82 billion, down 10.5% from the same period in 2012.
The number of trades in July reached 4.3 million, up 6.7% from the same period last year and 24.2% up from June 2013. The number of trades in the first seven months came in at 24.9 million, down 13.2% from the same period in 2012.
As for the ETF segment, the trading volume in the first seven months came in at €1.7 billion, up 41% year on year. The trading volume in this segment in July came in at €263.7 million, up 28% from July 2012. The number of trades in ETFs in the first seven months was 36,169, up 5.8% year on year. The number of trades in July reached 5,040, down 20.1% year on year.
Futures and Options
In July trading on BME’s Derivatives Market came in at 3.8 million contracts, down 10.6% from the same period last year.
Warrants and Certificates
The volume of warrants and certificates admitted to trading in 2013 totaled 5,370. Trading on this market in the first seven months totaled €475.7 million, down 4.1% from the same period in 2012. The trading volume in July came in at €67.8 million, up 12.8% from June.
The number of trades in the first seven months in this market totaled 112,535, down 12.3% year on year. The number of trades in July reached 16,309, up 1.5% from the previous month and up 1.6% from June 2013.
Fixed Income
Trading on BME’s Corporate Debt market in July reached €113.335 billion, down 32% year on year. The number of trades in July reached 338,639, a monthly record. New issues in July totaled €11.08 billion, down 74% from July 2012.
The trading volume on SEND (Retail Fixed Income platform) in June came in at €173 million and in the period January – July to €1.6 billion, more than 3 times as much as that for the same period last year.
In July trading in Public Debt on SENAF, BME’s wholesale trading platform, reached €4.3 billion, up 136% from the same period in 2012.
