In July 2013, the number of transactions on SIX Swiss Exchange declined by -6.7% to 2'883'010 compared to the previous month. All trading segments were affected, with Equities (incl. Funds + ETPs) recording the smallest decline with -6.2%. However, compared to the same period in the previous year, the number of transactions is 6.0% higher with a total of 20'700'401.
Drop in monthly turnover
The lower trading activity in July 2013 influenced turnover on SIX Swiss Exchange. With CHF 77'269 million, it remained over -17% below the turnover figures of June 2013. Despite this result, turnover since the beginning of this year remains distinctly above the figures for the same period in 2012: across all segments, it amounts to CHF 617'346 million. This corresponds to an increase of 12.4%, with biggest growth recorded in the segments Equities (+17.9%) and ETFs (+32.6%).
