• The number of retail shareholders in the company stands at 52,300

BME has designed a Training Programme for Shareholders, which will be coordinated by its training subsidiary, Instituto BME, in which different professionals from the Group will participate. The aim of the initiative is to spread the financial culture among the company's retail shareholders.

This Training Programme provides added value to BME's retail shareholders through a specific, free-of-charge plan. The programme will start developing in May and will include in-person courses structured into 2 - 3 hour-lessons on basic financial concepts.

Since BME became a listed company, in July 2006, its number of shareholders has kept on increasing, standing at 55.373 as at 31 December 2012. Of these 52,360 are retail investors.

BME is committed to the dissemination of financial culture and training through its Instituto BME subsidiary, which has the necessary specialised resources to carry out its training activities and whose experience spans over two decades.

The Training Programme for Shareholders will be imparted in each of the BME headquarters in its Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao and Valencia stock exchanges.
