Borsa Istanbul and Tirana Stock Exhange sign MoU

MoU signed by executive vice president of Borsa Istanbul and CEO of Tirana Stock Exchange is expected to develop existing cooperation between Borsa Istanbul and Tirana Stock Exchange.

Borsa Istanbul and Tirana Stock Exchange have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The MoU signed by Mr. Mustafa Baltaci, Executive Vice President of Borsa Istanbul, and Anila Fureraj, CEO of Tirana Stock Exchange, is expected to develop the existing cooperation between Borsa İstanbul and Tirana Stock Exchange.

On May 28, Baltaci and Fureraj signed the MoU during Tirana Economic Forum – “Albania New Development Model”, which took place in Tirana with the presence of Sali Berisha, Albanian Prime Minister, and Florjon Mima, Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy of Albania.

The MoU envisages the development of the existing cooperation between Borsa Istanbul and Tirana Stock Exchange. Under the MoU, the parties are intended to cooperate in certain areas such as developing projects and opportunities to exchange information and expertise pertaining to their activities, markets and operations in order to contribute to improvement of their countries’ capital markets; benefiting from each others’ experiences and best practices; and organizing joint events with the common objective of improving the understanding and knowledge of capital markets in both countries.

Moreover, the parties aim to establish a secondary fixed income market operating within Tirana Stock Exchange; to develop a new electronic trading system for Tirana Stock Exchange; and to work in collaboration with other relevant institutions in order to establish a post trade environment for Albanian capital markets.
